Articles on: Introducing Whympr

How does the Whympr wall work ?

The news feed is the very first feature you see when you open Whympr.

Here, you'll find recently posted outings for all activities and mountain ranges. These outings are shared either by Whympr users or by users from other platforms like Skitour for ski touring.

By clicking on an outing, you can find a conditions report, photos, or even a shared GPX track from the user. You can interact with them via the comments section or like their outing.

By clicking on "View the route", you'll get access to a description and useful information. If the route inspires you, you can save it to "To do" so you can easily find it in your profile.

Clicking on a user’s name lets you view their profile and follow them. By following them, you'll receive a notification every time they post an outing on Whympr.

To return to the news feed, simply click "Outings" in the bottom left corner. At the top of the feed, you'll find information about your location, such as altitude or weather. Weather reports are available worldwide and provide forecasts for the selected point of interest.

You'll also find the avalanche bulletin for the location where you're geolocated, if a bulletin is available for that area. In addition to your current location, you can favorite the BERA (avalanche bulletin) and weather reports for other places to easily find them later.

In the top right of the news feed, you'll find the search bar to look up a route, a peak, or a person.

Next to it, there's a small notification bell, where you can see who liked your outing or who posted on the app.
