Getting Started with Whympr: Interface
What are the different pages of the app used for?
Whympr is organized into 5 main sections, accessible from the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen.

The Wall
The Wall is your outdoor community’s news feed. It’s the first page you see when you open the app.
What you’ll find there:
- Recent outings shared by the users you follow
- Real-time weather for your current location
- The avalanche report (if you’re in an affected area)
- Fresh terrain conditions reported by the community
You can save up to 4 favorite locations (your mountain range, your resort…) to track their weather and avalanche reports directly from the Wall, without having to search for them every time.
💡 It’s a good habit to check the feed before every outing to see the latest conditions shared by other enthusiasts.

The Map
The Map page is the heart of the app. This is where you plan and navigate your routes.
What you can do:
- View the different available maps (IGN, SwissTopo, USGS, etc.) and switch between them
- Filter the display by activity (hiking, climbing, ski touring, mountain biking, etc.)
- Locate Points of Interest (small blue squares on the map), often linked to detailed routes from C2C, Skitour, or tourist offices
- Access Pro Guides by enabling the “Pro Guides Only” filter
- Enable 3D view to visualize the terrain from all angles (Premium)
- Display nature conservation areas (Biodiv’Sport in France, SwissTopo in Switzerland)
- Check the slope gradient to anticipate avalanche risks
- Access outdoor webcams to view live conditions (Premium)
⚠️ IGN maps and offline view are Whympr Premium features.

The “+” Button
The “+” button in the center of the navigation bar is your starting point for all creation actions. It gives you access to 4 options:
Create a Route Draw your route by hand or use the magic wand to have Whympr automatically follow existing trails. → Learn more about creating a route
Record a route Start recording your trip in real time using GPS. Whympr tracks your route live and shows you the total distance and elevation gain.
Create a trip Manually enter a past trip (without GPS tracking) and share it with the community.
Import a GPX file Import up to 200 GPX tracks at once. They automatically sync with your account and are available in the app. → Learn more about GPX import

🛒 The Store
The Store brings together all the content and subscriptions available for purchase:
- Whympr Premium and the Outdoor Pack (Whympr + Iphigénie)
- Pro Guides: digital guides written by mountain professionals, available for purchase individually (a route, a sector, a trail)
- Any special offers (CAF, promo codes, etc.)
💡 A portion of the price of each Pro Guide is paid directly to the author.

👤 Profile
Your profile is your personal climbing log. This is also where you manage all the app’s settings.
What you’ll find there:
- 📍 All your recorded and shared runs
- 🗺️ The tracks you’ve created or imported
- 🔖 The routes you’ve saved as favorites
- 👥 The list of people you follow (and their recent activity)
- ⚙️ App settings: units, notifications, connection to watches (Garmin, Coros), privacy…
From the settings, you can also:
- Change your email address or password
- Connect a GPS watch
- Manage the visibility of your workouts (public or private)
